Wills, Powers of Attorney, and Appointments of Enduring Guardian
Whiteley Ironside & Shillington provides expert legal services in Succession Law.
We are experts in preparing Wills, Powers of Attorney (“POAs”), and Appointments of Enduring Guardian (“AOGs”). These are important documents which every adult should have.
A Will sets out how you wish your assets to be distributed when you pass away. A properly prepared Will assists in removing any disputes about validity and interpretation. If you pass away without a Will, your assets will be distributed in accordance with the laws of intestacy, meaning that it is possible that your assets may not go to who you wish it to go to.
POAs provide nominated people with the authority to act on your behalf in relation to monetary matters, subject to any limitations you desire. AOGs provide nominated people with the authority to act on your behalf in relation to health and medical matters, subject to any limitations you desire. POAs and AOGs are most often used when the principal (the person who made the document) loses capacity to make decisions for themselves.
